Thanos: Avengers Star Josh Brolin Teases the Return of Thanos in the MCU(2024)

Despite the character’s numerous deaths, Josh Brolin is implying that Marvel fans might not have seen the last of his Thanos in the MCU.

Actor Josh Brolin has hinted that a major comeback for Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe may be imminent.

Josh Brolin is well-known for portraying the villain Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which includes the films Infinity War and Endgame. In the second season of the animated series What If…? on Disney+, Brolin recently returned to the job of voice actor for several of his incarnations. In an interview with ComicBook.com to promote Dune: Part Two, Brolin was questioned about the likelihood of seeing his return in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The actor hinted that he has heard rumors that his live-action version of him will return, but that’s not the same as the cartoon version. More than any other villain in the MCU, he also responded when he discovered that he had been formally eliminated.

“You know, I hear kind of like through the grapevine, that they’re gonna bring him back,” remarked Brolin. “There is also the What If…? series, which features a distinct version of Thanos and related themes. I was unaware that he was the deadliest Marvel villain, but I don’t know whether they would bring him back into the Marvel universe. Every day you pick up fresh knowledge.”

Although it wasn’t my original goal when I got involved, I was overjoyed and truly enjoyed being a part of [The Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame]. The entire Thanos persona was more of a cameo, and they were huge fans of the character.

They had never felt that they had a villain strong enough for the work they were doing, but after, I believe, they felt like they had, and two films that were essentially centered on that were released. It was beneficial to them and a lot of fun.
